Designed for scientists and clinicians interested in entrepreneurship, this program advances the development of innovative ideas.

Idea to IPO” teaches the nuts and bolts of launching a successful life science business through a unique blend of group projects, selected readings, lectures by industry executives, and mentoring by venture capitalists.

Idea to IPO” participants experience an intense and lively introduction to life science entrepreneurship, with practical information and exercises on the following key topics:

  • Attracting Financing Sources
  •  Protecting Intellectual Property
  • Conducting Market Assessments
  • Building Corporate Infrastructure
  • Understanding Regulatory Issues
  • Developing Elevator Pitches
  • Creating Business Plans

Invitation to Innovation – Everyone (including faculty) is invited to participate in this exciting program and encouraged to bring innovative ideas to the first class on January 4. Participants will form teams around real technologies and formally present them to a panel of prominent venture capitalists at the class finale.

The UCSF Center for BioEntrepreneurship (CBE) offers programs and resources to develop the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders in the life science industry.
