Server Security Tools
As members of the Center for Internet Security (www.cisecurity.org), the UCSF community is encouraged to visit their site and utilize the security consensus benchmarks for Windows and Unix operating systems and scoring tools that have been developed by its members.
These security benchmarks are available:
Top 20 Scanner - based on the Top 20 Vulnerabilities list created by SANS and the FBI.
Patchwork - Checks against the Top 20 Vulnerabilities list for Windows. If any vulnerabilities are found, Patchwork points you directly to the Microsoft patches. Patchwork then allows you to verify that the patches were installed correctly.
The Center for Internet Security - Use this link to access benchmark tools developed by CIS. There is no cost to use these tools.
